Working details
Questions before we scope the research.
Bring the client brief, an early idea or a research question. We agree what to cover, what you need back and when.
What kinds of data work are a good fit?
Most of my work uses public data: bringing sources together, comparing places and building rankings or indices. If you have client data or a survey brief, send the details. We can agree the work involved, including any survey design, fieldwork or analysis.
Can you deliver under our agency’s brand?
Yes. We agree branding, access to working files and attribution before the project begins. Your team keeps the client relationship and leads campaign decisions.
Can you work alongside an internal research team?
Yes. I can help with a difficult analytical question, take on part of a study or support your team during a busy period. We agree how the files and findings will fit into your team's work.
What happens when the evidence changes the idea?
I explain what the data supports, where the original angle falls short and whether another direction is workable. We review the finding before your team develops the final story.
What about questions during journalist outreach?
We agree any research support needed during outreach as part of the scope. This may cover method explanations, checking statistical wording or additional breakdowns where the data supports them. Response windows, revisions and additional analysis are agreed in advance.
Is concept and feasibility work a paid project?
Yes. We agree a small scope and fee to develop or test a research idea and document a proceed, revise or stop decision. We can use an introductory conversation to see whether I can help. Checking sources and doing the analysis are paid work.
Can you handle the complete study?
Yes. Concept development, feasibility, analysis and any agreed ranking or index can form one study with one fixed proposal. A new composite index is priced for its specific method and data. The individual starting prices are not added together automatically. If we begin with a separate feasibility review, the follow-on proposal builds on that work without charging again for completed deliverables.
How are cost and timing agreed?
Share the question, intended use and deadline. Feasibility reviews are delivered within 48 hours of receiving the agreed brief and required inputs. I confirm a fixed fee, deliverables, schedule and review points before work starts; full-study schedules are agreed individually. The starting prices cover the focused scopes described above; additional sources, markets, methodological development or support may require a larger proposal. If feasibility is uncertain, we can begin with a paid review before committing to the full study.
